Who is “Luxembourg Outdoors”?
Hey, I’m Jonny – a primary school teacher during the week, and a dedicated hiking enthusiast at the weekends.
Originally from Ireland, I’ve lived in Luxembourg for over twenty years… and I still love the place just as much as when I first arrived. Over the years I’ve walked thousands and thousands of kilometres across this small but varied country, exploring its forests, ridges, castles, river valleys and rock formations with open-mouthed wonder.
Luxembourg Outdoors is my way of sharing what I’ve discovered. It’s a growing collection of hiking routes, trail notes and photography focused entirely on experiencing Luxembourg and the surrounding regions on foot. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful woodland path, a cross-border loop, or a castle hike for a sunny Saturday, you’ll certainly find something here worth exploring.
I’ve become something of a local expert on hiking in Luxembourg… but the beautiful thing is that I still find new places almost every time I put on my boots. That’s what keeps me going.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering: I have a dodgy knee, drink far too much coffee, support some truly terrible football teams and have a deep dislike of marzipan. Thankfully, most of those things don’t feature too often on the blog. Well, the knee occasionally does.
