Five memorable hikes across Luxembourg, combining beautiful scenery with powerful echoes of World War II. From forest battlefields to hidden bunkers and quiet memorials, these trails are for walking, reflecting, then walking some more.
10km โ Easy / medium.
Farmland, forest, railway history and classic Mullerthal sandstone, all wrapped into one varied loop.
Less drama than the headline "Mullerthal Trail" routes, but a more accessible half-day hike.
22km - Tough!
One of Luxembourgโs most challenging day hikes. The Felsenweg 2 delivers relentless climbs, wild rock formations and deep forest valleys, rewarding effort with some of the Mullerthalโs finest scenery.
10km โ Easy / medium.
A high-quality Minett loop from Tรฉtange, mixing red earth paths, mining relics and quiet woodland. Surprisingly atmospheric, particularly the remarkable "Perchesbierg" section that reveals the raw drama of this regionโs industrial landscape.
12km - Intermediate.
A varied loop from Beaufort Castle blending solitude and scenery: deep, silent woods, a hidden WWII chapel, the peaceful Hallerbaach and the wilder Haupeschbaach.
9km - Easy / medium.
The newest Auto-Pรฉdestre trail is a gentle countryside loop crowned by one of Luxembourgโs most curious landmarks: the water-ringed turrets of the Chรขteau de Turelbaach.
10km โ Intermediate.
A Mullerthal classic linking Consdorf with the Schiessentรผmpel waterfall. Ten kilometres of rocky forest paths and sandstone cliffs make this one of Luxembourgโs favourite hikes, challenging in places but unforgettable from start to finish.
3km โ Easy.
A short, contemplative walk through a former battlefield near Wiltz, where life-sized wartime photographs merge hauntingly with the forest. Schumannseck is one of Luxembourgโs most original and moving memorials, where history, nature and reflection meet in perfect stillness.
